INFINITI's innovative retail architecture represents a fusion of minimalist aesthetics with a harmonious, open interior, drawing
inspiration from Japanese design philosophies. This design approach pays tribute to the brand's rich heritage while
delivering a fully immersive experience for its customers.
The design is anchored in the Japanese concept of "Ma," which emphasises the space between elements. Unlike Western
minimalism, "Ma" appreciates the use of empty space in an additive manner, striving for equilibrium among all components.
This philosophy extends to the concept of "engawa," a transitional architectural element that seamlessly blurs the
boundaries between outdoor and indoor spaces. The exterior of the showroom features a unique "deep eave" along the
roofline, designed to cast shadows and regulate direct sunlight, creating an elegant play of light and shadow.
Inside the showroom, the design encourages a feeling of spaciousness, guiding customers on a seamless journey. Woodlook
finishes throughout the space impart a warm, modern ambiance and a sense of tranquility. Indirect lighting on the
floor and ceiling at the building's perimeter, inspired by the brand's logo, creates a captivating "vanishing point" effect
when viewed from a distance.
Additionally, the INFINITI "Kimono fold" pattern is subtly integrated into selected walls and surfaces, paying homage to one
of the brand's signature textural elements. Taking inspiration from a Japanese "Noren," a semi-translucent fabric divider
often used between rooms or doorways, a large mesh screen within the central showroom displays evolving content via a
ceiling-mounted projector. The display adapts in colour and theme with the changing seasons, introducing nature-inspired
elements that infuse warmth and intrigue into the space. From an external perspective, the screen acts as a subtle
backdrop that accentuates the INFINITI logo, creating a welcoming environment for guests.
